Stop Erosion and Grow Vegetation With Our Straw-Net Erosion Control Blankets

Our Erosion Control Blankets are a temporary rolled erosion control product composed of strong agricultural wheat straw that is mechanically stitch-bonded on a maximum of two-inch centers to a top netting.

Straw-Net Erosion Control Blankets can be utilized to slow down water flow, prevent silt and erosion, and promote re-vegetation. They also aid in the germination of newly planted seeds by shielding seeds from erosion and reducing weed growth. They’re widely used on riverbeds, hills, culvert inlets and outfalls, and channel and ditch linings.

Installing Your Erosion Control Blanket

The installation of our erosion control blankets involves several steps. First, we recommend that the area where the blanket will be installed should be prepared by removing any debris and smoothing out the soil. The blanket should then be rolled out over the area, with the edge of the blanket buried in a small trench to secure it.

The blanket should be unrolled in the direction of water flow. We have found that securing the erosion control blanket with stakes or staples at regular intervals is the best practice to ensure proper use.

How To Get The Most From Your Erosion Control Blanket

Maintaining our erosion control blankets involves regular checks to ensure that the blanket is still securely in place and has not been damaged. If any damage is found, it should be repaired as soon as possible to prevent soil erosion. Over time, our straw-net erosion control blankets will degrade and can be left in place.
